Ford Freestyle: Explorer For a New Century
It seems that the 1990s was the decade of the SUV in the United States. During that time, we saw the market go from only a handful of different models to dozens and dozens of different choices. That momentum has continued into the 2000s, but consumers’ tastes are ever so slightly changing. In the second part of an ongoing series on Ford’s “Year of the Car,” AutomotiveArticles.com looks at Ford’s latest crossover, the Freestyle.

Infiniti M45: Europe Has a New Challenger
Nissan’s Infiniti luxury division has been on a roll lately. First came the G35 sedan, which took home Motor Trend’s Car of the Year award along with its sleek coupe companion. Both vehicles are making, arguably, the strongest run at the industry benchmark in their segment (the BMW 3-Series) of any competitor to date. Two vehicles that have not seen similar success are the large M45 and Q45 sedans. Infiniti looks to change all of that with the next generation of the M, and the M45 Concept gives us a very good example of what to expect.

Ford Five Hundred: Here Comes the Savior?
It’s no small secret that Ford’s car division has been often overlooked by company executives on their way to SUV-sized profits from their truck division. The only mainstream Ford car that can be considered even somewhat competitive with the best of the market is the compact Focus. Sure, they had the niche-market Thunderbird, but that hasn’t exactly been a major sales hit despite all of the initial buzz. In the first part of an ongoing series on Ford’s “Year of the Car,” AutomotiveArticles.com shines the spotlight on the new Ford Five Hundred.

Scion tC: "Cheap" Killer
The compact market in the Unites States is heating up. Vehicles like the Mini, the Mazda3, and even the VW Jetta have proven that you don’t need to sacrifice quality and entertainment if you buy an (relatively) affordable and small car. They’re also proving to carmakers that if done right, quality compacts can bring in affluent young buyers that have yet to develop their loyalties and can be easily “brought into the fold,” so to speak. The sooner they drink the Kool-Aid, the better.

Subaru Heads Upstream With Legacy & Outback

Subarus have long been known for their rugged AWD wagons and WRC participation, but they’ve hardly been considered a luxury brand competing against the likes of Lexus and BMW. However, with the latest iterations of the Legacy and Outback models, Subaru hopes to make the climb up the socio-automotive class structure and be considered as a sort of Japanese equal to Audi, rather than just the choice you take when you want an AWD vehicle but can’t afford the German brand.
